Pizza Hot Sauce

SAUCE ON Fried Mozzarella Sticks • Pizza Crust • French Fries
Ingredients

1 can Whole Tomatoes (27oz)
1 Yellow Onion
3/4 cup White Vinegar
1 Red Bell Pepper
6 Garlic Cloves
1 jar Piquillo Peppers in Brine
1 tbsp Fennel Seed
1 tbsp Oregano Dried
1 tbsp Basil Dried
1 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper Flake
6 Chile De Arbol Dried
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tbsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. On a sheet pan add chopped red bell pepper, chile de arbol, onion, and garlic. Toss with olive oil, black pepper and salt. Roast for 20min.

To a spice grinder, add fennel seed, oregano, basil, and crushed red pepper flake. Grind into a powder. If no spice grinder available, just add all spices to blender before blending sauce.

Into a blender add roasted onion, red bell pepper, garlic, chile de arbol, spice blend (oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, fennel seed), piquillo peppers, whole peeled tomatoes, ground pepper and salt. Blend for 1 minute until smooth. Strain and let cool.

Bottle up and enjoy on pizza crust!
