Beer Teriyaki Sauce

SAUCE ON Grilled Salmon • Steamed Edamame • Soba Noodles
Ingredients

1 12oz can stout beer
1 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 orange juice/zest
2 tbsp ground ginger
4 green onions
3/4 cup brown sugar
5 garlic cloves
1 ginger root medium size
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp corn starch
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
Preparation
1.
To a medium sized sauce pan add beer, garlic, white part of green onion and 1/2 of ginger root

Reduce to half and strain out the ginger, green onion, and garlic

Turn heat to high and add in orange juice/zest, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, ginger powder, grated ginger root. Bring mixture to a simmer.

In a separate small bowl mix together cornstarch and water to make a corn starch slurry. Add into sauce mixture and simmer for five minutes until thickened

Chop up the green part of the green onion and mix into the sauce.
